Moonfall
silver rays they dance and play skipping between trees across burbling brooks the curtain of night sheer the cool air crisp and clear birds chirping in nests and nooks the dew beginning to freeze play turns to prey moon phase the beasts prowl, blood hot howls of hunger, cries of terror clouds overhead, darkness reigns fight and flight dance and elope wander not far, dear child dead don't return from the wild it is the price you wrought for entering the monsters lair it takes all intruders who deign to flee towards the light of hope falling from the sky, making room as the horizon brings dawns tidings sleep takes them to a better place one filled with joy not doom no pain from which to be hiding filled with the sun's grace banishing the gloom, light looms the moon to be banished, time biding sunrise charges the moon, as it races till the moonfall.
