Moon To Icarus
Centuries pass us by as I gleam down On the woeful ocean where you had drowned. Oh what would I have done to caress your wings! Burnt by the blazing merciless sun into shimmers of nothing. Had it being the dimly lit night, sky smeared with stars. My gentle glow would have lift up your glistening feathers You chose the sun, captivated by its burning light, While I, the moon, waited silently watching your forsaken flight. You, who could look into the death's eye and be hypnotized, Why did you not choose my adoring embrace of moonlight? As you fell like those abandoned tears of my eye, engulfed by the ocean Stars of the night sky stood by, dulled and frozen. The sun has broken your heart, submerged your soul. But the moon would have treasured your wings, loved you whole.
