Monsters In My Head
The day I stopped fearing the monsters under my bed. Was the day I realised they weren't under my bed but in my head instead. They were always there keeping me dangerously close to the ledge. Slowly pushing me closer towards the edge. And then one day I fell. Like I was falling to the bottom of a well. Something snapped And my mask just cracked. And the monsters where delighted. Smiling with glee to see me frightened. My feelings dishevelled, my mind a mess Because of them I felt nothing but stress. I fought and fought, but all to no avail. And of course they were delighted to watch me fail. Occupying my mind and living rent free. Are the same cursed monsters that constantly haunt me. They make my mind a battle ground. Leaving me in a state of numbness so profound. These are the monsters not under my bed. No These are the monsters inside my head.
