Monster Free
In each night, A guarantee of no disturbance. The night is heavy, And the eyelids follow, Sound asleep. A youthful display of innocence, But moments come when shadows lurk And give rise to a heartbeat. Fragility seen in broken glass, Echoing miles Of many nocturnal cries. I look at you And wrestle with the oversized monster; He's pinned to the floor, And taps out. Rock a bye baby, You're finally sound asleep. Your nights are young, And your room is finally monster free.
