Moments
The rustling of leaves on an autumn afternoon The warmth of sunlight on a spring morning The sounds of waves of a summer noon The falling of snow on a winter night The laughter of children as they run by The sorrow when a loved one passes The joy of discovering a new song The melancholy of knowing you are away The experience of a new day The passing of a bad one The anticipation of future plans The planning of new ones I look forward to what our lives will bring All the ups, downs, and in-betweens Perhaps for you, I bring a ring Perhaps for me, I hear you sing For what is love, but a commitment Bound by the contract of time To stand with each other against odds Cleverly designed to inhibit our whims My love, my darling friend The best person I've ever met I may think of the future often But present I am fully For when these moments pass Our time may be cut short Despite the lingering ending to our tale I will enjoy everything in this life with you For if I was given the choice I would live life again repeating my mistakes So long as it leads me back to you
