MNYONGE, MNYONGE!!
Dear God I guess your eyes may be blind, not to see the suffering of mnyonge, or maybe your ears can't hear anymore, to hear the cries and pleadings of mnyonge, or maybe you're just ignorant of the prayers of mnyonge or you're waiting for the right time to unleash your wrath Dear God Mnyonge prayed and fasted for a democratic leader He pleaded for a leader who listens to the people But his prayers bounced back like rejected echoes Instead, you provided leaders who think of nothing but their stomachs Leaders who boil the pot full of promises with no meal to serve Mnyonge drains in sweat while tajiri eats the fruits He walks barefooted on the broken promises, With nothing to celebrate but being hopeful that one day all will be well As days go by, Mnyonge continues to sip from the cup of empty promises I guess development is a plague in our country. Is this what Mnyonge prayed for? Dear God, Mnyonge is tired of your silence Mnyonge can no longer wait for justice to fall like rain Mnyonge is sick of the choking injustice Mnyonge can no longer stand your 'chosen one' Dear God Mnyonge has emptied the cup of promises The thirst for justice now arises Mnyonge will no longer suffer in silence.
