Misunderstood

Everyone is so worried about being the hero and saving the day, but did we ever consider the villain. Since heroes save people and don't like them, were we supposed to too. Did the hero start the problem and the villain just finished it. Maybe the hero did something terrible, and the villain couldn't take it anymore so they snapped. And when they snapped the whole world came with them. They didn't have anything to lose, and a false sense of gain. They would finally be known for something just not what you're typically known for. They remembered being the hero, and then everyone turned on them, and was alone, replaced. They felt used and thrown away because they were pure hearted. When really the villain wanted a happy ending.
