I am a picture frame a picture frame like any other Flaws, foils, yes But qualities too. I gazed in awe as others simply existed, picture perfect, in my view. I gazed in the mirror, not in awe but in disgust The people in my picture are crying, and my frame is full of rust. Others acted civil, kind, and it seemed true. "But how could they truly like me?" Unheard voices began to spew So I cast silver on my photo and plated my frame with glass. A mirror, I became, to avoid social isolation and shame. I thought then that I could truly be the same. But the mirror wasn't perfect, i made it myself, y'know? A reflection imperfect, distorted, and flawed It didn't take long for people to notice my facade My photo is completely visible, underneath the silver haze. I notice another staring at me, I can't avoid their gaze. When I go to greet her, I trip and the glass breaks. But when we lock eyes, we see each others face. I notice the frame is glistening with grace "Another like me," we say, almost in sync I thought I was the only one imperfect. What a silly way to think.
