Mirror
Mirror on the wall Balancing lest you fall Who's most shattered most of all Scattered pieces on the ground Jagged yet precious all around They glimmer and shine And in my hand - I intertwine A ribbon mending yours and mine A frame of smooth mahogany Worn beyond the eye could see You hang there so delicately Lest you sway to and fro Hovering over the ground below Your pieces scattered thin and thick It must be painful - isn't it? To watch the pieces mend and grow Glimmer brighter - did they grow? Your hands fumble Grab them quick! There's so many - so just pick You reach for one that is round A mistake is made - finger hit It must be painful - isn't it? Mirror as you sit there on that wall You must be quite afraid to fall The nail is bent The paint is thick Your finger is surely nicked You watch the paint run down the wall Across your finger wosrt of all Mirror do not call it quits The last piece falls to the pit One step forward is all you need And be sure to close your eyes indeed Block out the glimmer and the hope It blinds you and you're sure to mope Mirror mirror don't you see You are but just a reflection of me A sweet reverie So gently hang on that wall Precariously trying not to fall Mirror on my wall
