Mirror
In the mirror, I gaze upon a reflection, A girl with dreams, yet caught in deception. The girl I should be is the girl I am not, A shadowed existence, an endless plot. With yearning eyes and a heart full of fire, I dream of flying higher, reaching the sky's spire. But doubt and fear, they whisper in my ear, "Surrender, dear girl, for you'll never persevere." The girl I should be wears a crown of grace, Confident strides and a radiant embrace. She dances through life, unburdened and free, A symphony of dreams, unchained and wild, is she. But here I stand, hesitant and unsure, Lost in the maze, thoughts obscure. For I've built walls, sturdy and tall, Afraid to shatter, afraid to fall. The girl I should be is fierce and bold, Unyielding spirit, a story yet untold. But here I stand, confined by my fears, Enveloped in whispers, echoing in my ears. Yet, in this struggle, a glimmer appears, A flicker of strength, unyielding for years. For the girl I should be, deep within my core, Exists in fragments, waiting to restore. With each step taken, I shed my disguise, Embracing imperfections, discovering my ties. For the girl I should be, within this frame, Is simply the girl I am, just in a different name.
