Miles Beneath my Smile
I no longer call his name, No longer cry in love or shame. Though I wait in silent grace, Can trust ever going to return once lost its place? When hearts have shattered time to time, Each broken piece forgets its rhyme. To mend them feels a foolish art— What’s whole again, once torn apart? In storms of thought I wear a smile, And walk alone one thousand mile. With falling stars, our sorrows hide, We weep where only night resides. Yet life moves on, it does not stay, Though we may wander, lose our way. And loneliness—our faithful friend— Clings to us till the very end. Though worldly ties may hold us tight, We drift again into the night.
