In search of the key to unlock my true self, For the one I present is someone else. My heart feels buried, lost at sea, Drifting away, drowning in sleep, unfree. Why must I wear a smile on my face, Holding onto a lie, unable to replace? I sense an error in my very existence, A corruption within, a painful persistence. Looking out the window, hoping you'll glance, To see the distorted me, take a chance. No longer needing to hide, to pretend, But you turned away, hoping this family won't bend. Every shattered mirror reflects my shame, As I suppress the pain, playing the same game. I've shared my trauma, every bit and piece, Yet you seem indifferent, your care seems to cease. You boasted of support, of being there, But it never seems to extend to my despair. On my knees, broken and in need, You chose him, as I pleaded to be freed. Where is the lock, where is the key, I must find them, before this suffocates me. No longer can I hide, no longer can I pretend, I'll reclaim my true self, on this I must depend.
