MEMORIES OF YOU AND I
In the depths of my heart, memories reside, Of a love once cherished, now torn apart wide. Your wandering eyes, so flirtatious and free, They shattered our bond, leaving only debris. I loved you unconditionally, without any bounds, Imperfectly, yes, but my love knew no bounds. But you placed those others above me, it's true, While they played, stole, and pretended to love you. It was I who truly loved you, with all my might, While they sought your affection, day and night. Yet you called me out, with such cruel disdain, Labeling me ugly, causing heartache and pain. And yet, you returned, with a feeble 'I don't feel well,' But I knew the truth, within my heart's tell. You took that other, to the grand opening affair, While I stood by your side, unaware and unaware. You tried to tear me down, as I built you up high, But no more shall I dwell on these memories gone awry. For they are just dust, floating in the wind, And I choose to move on, leaving the past behind. So let us part ways, with grace and with ease, No longer burdened by what once brought us unease. The memories of you and I may fade away, But I'll find new love, in a brand new day. Romique
