Memoir of an Old Toy
Memoir of an Old Toy by Jack A. S. Dunce I came to be as does the sunshine -- warmth and light that chased away the dark. All in me I gave as meant by design to bring back in sad eyes their lost spark. I lost count of the times I crashed and burned just to hear laughter and see a smile. The scrapes and scratches are the badges I've earned. The hugs and kisses made them all worth while. A minute shared with me is worth my lifetime; I being part of your life is enough. It gave my life it's reason and rhyme. Accepting what has to come is not as tough. As I lay in some dark forgotten corner, on my own to face the reckoning, with yesteryears just a distant murmur, it's your familiar voice I still hear calling. ©️pgmr 10/27/2024 *dedicated to my dear bea
