"meet you again" pt1
I will meet you at the graveyard gate, Where silence speaks, and time runs late. Where you now rest beneath the stone, And I walk this path, aching and alone. You lay there still, the world turned gray, Faced up to skies that stole you away. A cold heart beats no more in chest, But in my soul, you’ve built your nest. We talked of forever, of life hand in hand, Of dreams we'd build, of making a stand. But you were torn between now and then, And I never saw you breaking—when? Life was hell, I knew you hurt, But I thought love could shield from the worst. I stood beside you, through storm and flame, Now I whisper your name in guilt and blame. You left too soon, the drink’s my peace, Since you left, my joy’s deceased. My rock, my friend—we made a pact, To ride this life 'til we both looked back. But now I'm screaming at the wind, Grieving the life we’ll never begin. You took your life, like a stolen page, And left me lost inside this cage. How could you leave with so much undone? You were just a kid, not even 21. They say you're here, inside my heart, But that don't fix being torn apart.
