Meet me halfway
Your hurtful words have never bore, Within my soul it always lurked. You’re not a best friend as you say, You have always sailed away. Whenever I needed you, You said the waves took you astray.. And so , I learned to swim against the tide, With no one drifting by my side. But when you needed a place to strive, I always was the one to arrive. You arent the person you said you were, Just another person stuck on their own shore. With no intention of crossing the bridge, for I was the one doing all our work. It’s like a switch has finally turned, The bridge I built has now been burned. now i stand amidst whats been burnt. while you stay looking so asured. that one day i will do all the work. while you stay watching, how undeserved you keep on drifting to the edge. like one day all of this will fix. but since the price has been pried. and you no longer know how the bridge is fixed, ours will stay amidst the ash until you mend', what you have never thought to even fix For until you cross to meet halfway, we’re no longer the best friends you say.
