maybe my last ride
I've ridden through the dust, a cowboy worn and weary, The Sahara's rusted sands have seen my journey dreary. Each trail of love, a path I've dared to tread, Thrown from the saddle, yet rising from the bed. My heart, a steadfast steed, has galloped wild and free, Through the open range of love, as vast as the eye can see. Each fall, a lesson learned, each scar a story told, Back on love’s saddle, brave and ever bold. But then there's you, a mirage or a fate, A ride that might just seal this lone heart's state. Your gaze, a sunset that calms the wildest storm, A whisper of a love that dares to transform. This ol' cowboy, with a spirit weathered but true, Finds in you a resting place, a peace anew. If this ride's my last, let it be known, it's best, For in your arms, this weary soul finds rest. The journey's been long, the trails have been tough, But your love’s gentle touch has been enough. So here I stand, my last ride in your name, For a cowboy's heart you've tenderly reclaimed.
