Maybe I feel too much..
Yes, small things may hurt me, A sigh, a pause, a glance too late. If you don’t react the way I hoped, It lingers, settles, turns to weight. I know it’s not your fault at all, It’s just the way my heart was made. Too fragile, too lost in echoes, Too quick to feel, too slow to fade. Maybe that’s why they drift away, Why silence grows where voices stood. I never meant to build these walls, But maybe I was never understood. If I make you feel encaged, Then know it’s me who’s trapped inside. I never wanted heavy chains, But I can’t unfeel, though I’ve tried.
