Maybe I deserved it
It stings more then it probably should Scratch that.. like a cat's scratch on the back of a mattress It stings more then I thought it would More emotionally then physically Because it was a surprise that was deserved but not expected I begin to think what every abused person forever thinks Maybe I deserved it So I don't argue. Instead of engage I just ignore My words replaced With the silence of space All kinds of assumptions and truths occured So I don't agure or retaliate that slap was like a shovel digging into a graveyard When I am alone and everything sinks in And the world starts to spin Feeling disconnected Feeling both affected and disaffected My answered fears And falling tears And the world turning a blind eye To my misery I offended him So he slapped me So I guess it's fair Though maybe not exactly It stings more then I thought it would More emotionally then physically Because it was a surprise that was deserved but not expected the slap stings even though I think I deserved it BY: B.
