May I Interpose?
May I, for but one moment, interpose? You have your latest love disclosed. You spoke from your heart and not your head. And I listened to what you've said. You spoke of love so tenderly, As if you spoke your words to me. Now I can't purge them from my mind, They were so considerate and kind. Also, you spoke of how you feel; How your broken heart will never heal. I know that's how you think today, When the one you love has gone astray. And, for a time, that might be true, But there will be other times for you. Oh, there might be times when you will cry, Those lonely times you'll say goodbye. But this love won't be your only one; There will be more before you're done. But as sure as God is watching from above, You will find your own true love. And when your life draws toward it's end, No need to ask, "What might have been?
