masks and crowns
what is love? its described as an all powerful source sent down from above. But...what is it really? its very complicated to explain clearly. you can't know it without feeling but you can't feel without healing. but love is supposed to heal, I frankly don't see the big deal. then again I've never had it, a bit heartbroken I must admit. How can you be heartbroken if you've never had love, you ask? pretty simple, it's all in the mask. the mask we broken people wear, the fake smile while we drown in despair. There is more than one way to break, there's the pain from absent parents for goodness sake. my mom was never around, I often cried in my room with no sound. when I was younger I wanted to be a princess but I fear I've lost my crown, that's what happens when the world repeatedly, knocks you down. But maybe, just maybe, love's a cruel jest, A fleeting illusion that puts hearts to the test. Perhaps it's a myth, a beautiful lie, That leaves us shattered as the days drift by. So keep your guard up, and your heart concealed, For love's empty promises may never be fulfilled. And when it whispers, with its siren song, Remember the pain, and where you went wrong.
