Making up for what was lost
She was a broken child, with a broken mind She spent her time fixing herself while others were finding themselves She was trying to protect herself while others were testing themselves She loves the world She loves being alive but she's reasoning with her life She's clinging to death It's scary to think about That one last breath but a hysterical sense of comfort lies within it nevertheless She wants to live She wants to love But who wants to love her The mirror hates her it shatters like her self worth Drowning in the pieces of a thousand puzzles called youth As a child She was mature for her age They Said She was so smart They said As she grew those words, they warped Why are you so cold They said Why are you so cruel They said They were sharp, like daggers from the tongue You're immature for your age They say You need to grow up, They say She's was only trying her best But she was a broken child, with a broken mind She grew up without anyone to teach her So now she's behind figuring it all out for the first time She's so dumb She acts so young But she's making up for what she never had she's growing down instead of growing up Will she always be a broken girl?
