maintaining friendship

My friends say it's time to go, To leave a friendship they don't know, But I can't just let it go, This bond that's grown, this love I've shown. They don't see what I see, The kindness, the empathy, The laughter, the memories, All the things that make them dear to me. I try to explain, to make them see, Why this friendship still means so much to me, But they insist, it's time to leave, And my heart aches, it's hard to believe. I understand they have their reasons, But I won't let go of this bond for seasons, For through the highs and the lows, This friendship still grows. So I'll continue to stand by their side, Through the laughter and tears we'll ride, For true friendship is hard to find, And I'll cherish it, till the end of time.
