Made to Love
I think I was made to love, not to be loved— It sounds sad, I know, yet it’s all I've known. To love so deeply, no one could return, I adored bodies that tolerated mine, Sharing warmth, just to pass the time. They slept beside me to feel less alone, But there’s no bitterness—I don’t regret. I was soft, and kind, a gentle light For those who needed stars in their sky, I hung them high so they’d feel alive. Now I watch my friends fall in love, Wondering if I'll feel that too, or if I was born To be a guide, to light the dark For those who need a little spark. And even if love is never returned, still I’ll believe in love because I've seen How deeply I can love, and give, and stay. I’ll keep loving, lighting the way.
