Made New
There was a time when my smile would light up the room I had a laugh that would lighten the mood. Oh, how lovely it is that my color shines through. Pink in fields of blue. Such a rare and unique little gem that I had been Lively and fun and fantastical without a care My voice would draw crowds from the streets to hear Oh how alive, how full of wonder - and fear. Vibrance is so easy to stain Little did I know how messy life could be and the dangers of being so pristine without care. I'd give myself freely, but I find my color is fading. Here and there to the ones who said they cared Sought out by the muggiest and nastiest people out there I never had a desire to hide my pink. Our colors are meant to be shared... Maybe I can find their color under all that grime? But once I had found their color I realized that I had lost all mine. No longer bright and no longer clean I had to wonder - Is that all I'm meant to be? Used to bring beauty to them and lose it in me? Alone to clean off the stains of their disease? No.... Because I am no longer pink After all that I've been through- I am new. Once I was finally clean, I realized: I am blue.
