Lynne
Holding a cigarette in my hand. In my ears, I'm playing a certain band. Falling asleep after a few beers. The cigarette burns my leg. I jump awake. I shouldn't beg. Not anymore. You won't love me back now. At least not the way I love you. You're getting married in July. And I'm left here to cry. We're still friends. You know how I feel. But there are so many loose ends. It doesn't feel real. I'll put out my cigarette. I'll go to sleep now. Please still be here in the morning. Let me hold you while I can.
