Loyalty and Lies
Loyalty and lies, they drift and collide, A sweet promise made, then swept with the tide. Heart held tight, love stitched like seams, Yet torn by whispers, breaking dreams. Eyes that sparkled, vows so grand, Trust like roses, held in hand. But petals fall, caught by the breeze, Left with thorns that pierce with ease. You swore forever, fierce and bold, A fire lit in hearts grown cold. But flames die down, embers fade, In shadows cast by truths betrayed. Love was gold, bright and pure, Shining, strong, we felt secure. But time revealed a darker side, Where secrets and deceptions hide. So here I stand, with lessons learned, Trust is fragile, easily burned. Yet still I hope, though love can sting, That someday I’ll find a lasting spring. Loyalty and lies, two paths entwined, In love's embrace, our hearts confined. But through it all, a truth remains, Love’s worth the risk, despite the chains.
