Loving Without Being Held
I give pieces of my heart to people who never asked, to strangers, to friends, to those who stay and those who quietly leave. I try to be the warmth in someone else’s cold day, the hand that holds when the world feels heavy. But somehow, the story always changes, kindness turns into distance, care turns into silence. And one day someone said, “You deserve to be alone.” The words stayed with me like an echo in an empty room. So I sit with my thoughts, wondering if loving too much is my quiet mistake, if giving everything is the reason people walk away. Maybe I do have storms inside me, unspoken fears, fragile pieces I never learned how to hold. And sometimes I think, maybe the world is easier without me trying to belong. Maybe my place is in the quiet corners of life, where loneliness feels like a familiar friend. But even there, a small part of my heart whispers, that maybe one day someone will understand the love I never learned how to keep for myself.
