Loves Echos In The Wind
In the tender embrace where love's light glows, Two hearts entwine, where passion flows. Better to have felt love's sweet, fleeting touch, Than to never have known its joys and such. But now I ask, beneath the moonlit sky, Why change, if love's promise was not a lie? Was it truly love, or just a game of lust, For when you shut me out, my heart turned to dust. The sun sinks low, shadows stretch long, Love's echoes linger, yet you are gone. We danced in dreams beneath the starry night, Bound by love's warmth, by hope's soft light. Yet morning came, and you turned away, Leaving my world in shades of gray. Sweet love was mine, though fleeting still, Its memory haunts, a poignant thrill. Better to have loved, to feel love's grace, Than to never have known that sacred place. But tell me now, where love's truth stands, Why did you change with shifting sands? Was it fear or fate's cruel jest, That left my heart in sorrow's nest? With Angelou’s voice, I weave these lines, A song of love’s enduring signs. For though it fades, as morning mist, Love’s gentle touch we can't resist.
