love testament
In the stillness of the night, a chilling scene unfurls, My best friend stands before me, his eyes like icy pearls. A gun he holds, its barrel cold, aimed straight at my heart, Asking for my final wish before our friendship falls apart. But I cannot comply, with his misguided plea, For I cannot die for him, as much as he may see. For friendship built on sacrifice is not what I believe, I won't lay down my life to prove what he perceives. I stand before him, steady, though my heart may quake, Refusing to give in, for my own life's sake. I tell him, "I won't grant your wish, for I am not your pawn, I choose to live my life, even when our bond is gone." His eyes betray confusion, as my words sink in, Realizing that my loyalty does not lie within. For friendship is not measured by the willingness to die, But by the trust and understanding that never will defy. So I stand firm in front of him, as the gun begins to lower, Knowing that our friendship may not survive this hour. But I cannot sacrifice myself to prove a misguided bond, For my life is mine to live, and to that truth, I respond.
