love runs on despair
In the shadows, I'll whisper your name, A love that's twisted, an eternal flame. My heart's captive, a prisoner to fear, Yearning for a love that's..not too clear. Pretending not to care, I wear a mask, A twisted love and a haunting task. Mutilated obsessor, a fear that's stark, Yet in this twisted dance, we're both in the dark. But in the shadows, I hide my pain, A silent sacrifice, a secret's bane. I drown myself, in facades I wear, As my life's darkness, I silently bear. To hold you close or to let you go, The fear of losing or the torment I know. For a beacon of light, I seem pretty dim. Or maybe I just can't escape my sin. For the smile of others is easily achieved. The smile of yours that I once received? Not forgotten, but tucked away to hide. Kept safe from this perverse state of mind. Yes it's true, I am one with a hope so fine. But you've never seen despair as great as mine. For I am no stranger to it's horrid depths and screams, I use it as fuel for my hopeful dreams. A dramatic love of the twisted kind.. Soon to be erased from your mind.
