love = possession?
I wished for healing before our paths entwined, But you saw the chaos, and your heart didn't mind. For beneath my hopeful dreams and creative flair, Lurked a poison love, a wicked, twisted affair. I'd carve your name in skin, wear it with pride, A childlike innocence, my darker self to hide. In the orbit of your presence, like an inescapable night, Every moment apart stretched into endless flight. My thoughts, a never-ending orbit around you, Obsession consuming, a love far from true. A constant twitch of envy, a sense of despair, For you're all I desire, and I could never compare. Inferior in your presence, like staring at the sun's might, Magnificent and brilliant, too beautiful to hold tight. You might think I aim to be you, your light above me, But I want to be the rain cloud, your secrets' canopy. Below you, I find my place, where I want to stay, Shielding you from others, keep them out of the way. Torn between wanting to be your all, my inferiority's fear, Longing to possess you, drawing you near. A fear that festers in the shadowed hallways of my mind, That you'll find my darkness, the disgust intertwined. No mere desire, it's become a burning ache, so vast, A hunger and yearning, a love built to last.
