you are the pushpull of currents I run from, this water lapping up my heels. I take one step back & the ocean won't forgive me for it. salt kisses you tell me to say no to, give in to, back forth and yet I must recede the waves' gravity. now I'm the calm within the deep and you're the shore drudging me to the surface. I'm melting seaweed monstrosity of salt water acceptance you cannot abandon and cannot resurrect even when I've earned to swim. let me walk back to the sea. let me leave my shells sand deep and god, leave them be. nature won't reclaim me again like this. no one can love me like you like this
