Love, In People
I love people who are authentic, whose light reaches others to be as they are. I love people who can be themselves—ugly, silly, messy, embarrassing, quirky; who won’t make you feel ugly, silly, messy, embarrassing, quirky. I love people who admire, yet embrace their own beauty. I love people who are chill, up for debate but not for competition. I love people who don’t laugh at snide remarks masquerading as a joke. I love people who give others their own spotlight and time. I love people who make others feel seen and heard— imagine if they’d first of all experienced it? I love people who respect others’ opinions and harmless choices, who wouldn’t do it but wouldn’t deem it a crime either. I love people who are loud when needed, silent when needed. I love people who use their voice knowing the weight of words— how much weight they hold. I love people who learn from their mistakes; they don’t become them. I love people who have self-control— it takes a very long time to wield and engraves patience. I love people who love, not for the sake of it. I love people who break the cycle.
