Love in Extinction
I began to accept the sadness of not having you, In the shadows of the night, in the silence of the evening. Your smile, once as bright as the moonlight, Now has faded, far from my sight. In memories, I find you with every sigh, In the echo of moments that time can't deny. Your absence, a lingering wound that persists, In life's poem, you're the line that insists. In sadness, I also find longing's embrace, And in words, the expression of the will to face. One day, perhaps, I'll overcome this despair, And confront the sadness of not having you to bear. I tried to get closer, tried not to pull away, But your pride wouldn't let us, in truth, stay. Walking on a tightrope, in a fragile balance, Our words got lost, in a silence that's tangible. The growing distance, like an abyss between us, Was the stubborn pride that continued to seclude us. The tears we shed, unable to restrain, Marked the path we chose, causing pain. But even in the darkness of this somber fate, With no hope of reunion, we continue to navigate. You weren't my victim, but a victim of difference, Entangled in the enigma of pride, in love's extinction. --Ink
