Love Happens
When you expect love the most, it doesn't come. And waiting can be a hard and endless trial. You think so much about it, you feel dumb. When the years go by and still it hurts, some how. Now too old to be considered cute and cuddly, All grown up and all so fuddy-duddly: And you worked so hard to become a wanted man! So, is it better late than never? Because, to wait for love feels like forever. You may overthink it, you may overdrink it. But you may never understand it. You can say it doesn't matter, but it does. You can say it was no big deal, but it was. You can soak your head in wine And words and feel insane, But still, there is no place to Hide your feelings and your pain. There's just not that much room inside your brain. Perhaps one day, unexpected, love walks by. And you realize your life has meaning and you know why. It might be new and sudden as it seems And maybe you'll mistake it for a dream. But if you should get so lucky that true love comes to you, Don't be so foolish to resist it from the start. Just let it happen as if your life is fresh and new. And keep an open mind and loving heart.
