love doesn't last
Taking you home, introductions were made, As you glanced at my sister, my heart swayed. Tears flowed freely, emotions untamed, Yet I masked my pain, a smile I maintained. Our hands intertwined under moonlight's glow, Butterflies fluttered, a feeling I'll never outgrow. Walking me home on a Friday eve, My heart soared with joy, I couldn't believe. On your birthday, you graced my door, In your presence, I yearned for more. The end brought tears, aching deep inside, As I took you home, bidding love goodbye. Meeting my family, a momentous stride, With you around, my mom's kindness amplified. Lying on the trampoline, stars overhead, I leaned on you, love's path I tread. Thinking you loved me, my happiness soared, But reality struck, my heart became floored. Through it all, I'll find the strength to grow, For love's journey is never a straight road. - Ray Foster
