Love Beyond the Walls
I told myself, time and again, Love is a road that only ends in pain. So I built my walls, brick by brick, A fortress strong, a heart turned sick. No one could enter, no one could stay, I locked my love and threw the key away. Safer this way, no risk, no fall, No shattered pieces, no love at all. But then you whispered, soft and true, And suddenly, my heart heard you. Your voice, a melody, called my name, And my walls trembled—never the same. I tried to fight, I tried to hide, But love was knocking, deep inside. Now bricks are falling, stone by stone, And for the first time, I’m not alone. Scared but hopeful, lost yet found, Your love has broken through the ground. Maybe this time, maybe with you, Love won’t be something I’ll have to undo.
