Love & Fear

Where love and fear intertwine, A truth revealed, though hard to bear, That love and fear, a dance divine. For love, a force so gentle, kind, Flutters softly on fragile wings, With tender touch and soothing words, It lifts us up with joy it brings. But fear, a shadow in the night, Creeps stealthily into the heart, It whispers doubts, it sows unrest, From deep within, it tears apart. And yet, dear soul, do not despair, For love and fear, entwined they be, For in this paradox, they find, A truth unseen, an irony. For love, it cannot truly thrive, Without the presence of its twin, Without the fear of loss, it fades, An empty vessel, cold and thin. Oh, how it frightens, that looming thought, Of parting ways, of empty space, With questions haunting deep within, Can hearts survive, can love embrace? But know, when fear takes hold of you, And shakes you to your very core, It proves the depths of love you feel, For in your heart, it cries and roars. For if the thought of losing someone, Does not scare the shit out of you, Then what remains is not true love, But shallow waters, a fractured hue.
