Love
I tried to write our love till my fingers blistered and my blood intertwined with the ink hoping the words would somehow someday make sense I tried to stay silent but I was meant to be loud I felt as if I was playing dress up in a room full of potential spark we were laughing smiling and having a great time and then in came the thoughts and I knew what you would say "it's just your head, ignore it" and I would say ok maybe I did this to myself by daring to be seen but they started crawling under my skin a journey through my veins they started saying I was cardboard as fake as the earth is round I started feeling as if quicksand was beneath my feet how could my own home make my soul feel so bare but your smile your love your skin that touched me like the softest paint brush I tired sleeping on it but I always dreamed of you lost in passion a flame ignited to light the fuse my heart swells at the inevitable imperfection became perfect hopeless became an exploding feeling inside my body that broke out of each pore like cactus the stormy sound of doubt withered and it was clear this bitter sweet time the idea of love didn't seem too far out of reach it didn't seem impossible it felt endless finally mine.
