Lost to fate
In ages past, her laughter filled the night, A gentle breeze that danced through endless skies. But time that spares the heart from mortal plight, Is cruel to those who watch their loved ones die. Her eyes, two stars that twinkled in the dark, Once shone with warmth, a beacon for my soul. Now shadows linger, leaving but a spark, As memories of joy take their cruel toll. I walk the paths where we once laughed and played, An echo of a love that won't decay. Yet every step in this eternal shade Reminds me of the price I've had to pay. For in my heart, I bear her endless ache, An immortal's curse to love, then lose, then break.
