Lost Lilies
Flowers. Born for beauty But lasting long they do not. They wither quick Yet live and stand with majesty. They seem pretty They smell nice But so much goes on underneath. Each bloom A new start. Each heart Uplifted. But withering fast They don't ever seem to last. My heart uplifted At the memory of those Lilies. They stand strong and beautiful Even when their time comes to an end. I hold to that memory Of those lilies, strong and Beautiful. (This poem is about a friend of mine who died young due to cancer. But though she knew she would die, she stood strong and beautiful. Her name... was Lilly.)
