Lost Letters
In the attic of my mind, There are letters I've left behind. Unwritten, unread, and untold, The stories of a heart that's grown old. Each page a tear, each line a sigh, The ink bleeds with a lonely cry. I think of you, and the words I never said, The promises I never made, the love that's dead. In the silence, I hear your voice, A whispered goodbye, a haunting choice. To let go of the memories we made, And leave behind the love that we once displayed. The letters remain, a bittersweet refrain, A reminder of what could never be regained. I'm left with tears, and a heart that's sore, Longing for the love that I'll never know once more.
