lost innocence
I was high up in my mothers tree, high up in the tree of innocence. "just a little while", she said, "I'll be back before you know it". and with that, she flew away. it suddenly grew dark. I turned around and a mysterious figure shoved me off the tree. I tried to grab on to the stick of temptation while I fell down the pit of sin. eventually I hit Rick bottom. shattering every bone in my small body. the dark figure jumped down and placed it's foot on my neck. gathering all my strength I took a twig beside me and shoved it into his leg. he held his leg as he screamed back in pain. I flapped my wings so hard I made it back to the top. but I no longer stood on the tree of innocence. I stood on a different one, one of self loathing. my mom came back. tears filled her eyes along with disdain as she saw my bruises and cuts. I was no longer her baby chick. I turned around and flew away. I knew I would never be the same.
