Lost In Longings
In unfamiliar spaces, I reside With strangers' faces, I abide Thought they were mine, but I was wrong My heart, a canvas, where love did belong It clings to memories, to words so fine Though they cut deep, like a sword's edge divine Each swing, a hurt, a pain so real Yet, I held on, for years, I did feel But then I saw, the truth so plain There was nothing mine, no love to gain My grip, it faltered, my holds, they broke I let go, slowly, my heart, it spoke Now I move, through motions, day by day Without expectation, I'm forced to stay Detached, I wander, through life's design Afraid to connect, to love, to entwine Sometimes, I'm scared, of what's to come Uncertain, of my heart, my soul, my home But still, I move, through the darkest night Searching for a light, a guiding light.
