Lost in a war
I fought so hard, I gave my all, Upon the field, I stood up tall. But war's harsh hand, it stole the prize, And left me with just tear-filled eyes. The fight was fierce, the struggle real, My efforts strong, my spirit zeal. Yet victory's song, it did not play, And all my work, just slipped away. Sometimes, it seems, no matter how, We strive and fight, we bow and vow, The outcome's twist, it leaves us sore, And all our efforts, are no more.
