Lost and Fragile
We never knew something could be so fragile We used to run and explore Unknowing the time would slip away We used to dream and hope with our hearts unchained Unaware of the years stolen from beneath us We had playmates and imaginary friends Soon gone before we even knew it As the years passed by like a gust of wind, Like the sand that slipped away of a child who knew There was bigger things to do as reality had hit Instead of having fun We have stress piled to a ton Instead of friends or family nights We have seperation Instead of talking one on one, face to face We sit alone facing a screen like a bunch of fools We never knew something could be so fragile That nothing would ever stay the same Not even the sky Our passion for toys had slowly died The laughter that echoed is now silence that rings Real childhood has now been forgotten, The worlds time is ticking We now mourn the days of our hopes and dreams The child's life lost, so pure and brief We never knew something could be so fragile Now we sit in quiet, tender grief.
