losing a lover
in a sliver spoon cafe I sat by the window on a cold December day coffee black with a cigarette already half gone with patients for her to come and sat across from me with the News that have been waiting so long for as I reached out to touch her hand quickly realized that she isn't here with good news yet has come to tell me you know that I love you so maybe deeper than the love I have for him but it's not right it's unfair for me to be with you it's wrong for me to be an unfairful wife to such a good man I already knew yet asked anyway then why are you here at this moment why carry on for as long with each other as we have she tells me at the time you had given me more in this life then he ever did yet I'm married and has came here to look her lover in the eye and tell him it's over those day's are in the past where they belong for we can't see each other anymore as she went to leave stopped and turned to me to say your never know how much I love you never know how much it's hurts me to say I can no longer see you I may never know how it hurts her but I do know that I had given her more in this life then he ever could and that's worth losing a lover .
