Lord I Want To
In the depths of my soul, a yearning resides, A desire to walk the path, where virtue abides, To be close to perfect, to embody the light, To reflect Your glory, in the darkness of night. But alas, the flesh is weak, and situations prevail, Tempting me to stray, from the virtuous trail, My spirit yearns to soar, on eagle's wings of faith, But the weight of the world, holds me captive in its cage. Oh Yah, I long to be in a place, where Your presence reigns, Where distractions fade, and my heart remains, Focused on Your glory, basking in Your light, Drinking from the fountain, of Your eternal delight. But the world's demands, and its cacophony of strife, Distract me from Your peace, and the stillness of Your life, I cry out to You, in the midst of my despair, Hear me, dear Father, and guide me through the snare. We look to You, in every trial and every test, Our faith is weak, but we're trying to find our best, Have mercy on us, dear Yah, in Your infinite love, Strengthen our resolve, sent from above. In Your kindness, hear our cry, when we call upon Your name, Lift us up, when we falter, and guide us through life's maze and game, May our hearts remain pure, and our spirits stay strong.
