Longing To shine
I wish I was a star that shines so bright, Even in the darkest night, For when I'm at my lightest, I'm still unseen, A big rock, unnoticed, like a shadow on the screen. Cause who cares about a rock, no matter its size? I'm just there, but worthless, a mere disguise, I've always yearned to be a star, to shine so bold, To light up the world, even when I'm cold. Like stars that twinkle in the midnight sky, Like the moon that glows, and catches the eye, Like the sun that rises, and banishes the night, I want to shine, to be seen, to ignite. Even in my darkness, even at my lowest low, I want to radiate, to let my spirit glow, To be a beacon of hope, a light in the dark, To shine so bright, and leave my mark.
